The View Sydney Hotel

REQUIREMENTS

About You 

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the hospitality Industry and wants to deliver the highest-quality food to our customers. As a Sous Chef or CDP, you will be responsible for preparing canapes for a function, buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the ALC restaurant, and more.

If you are passionate about creating amazing menus, can control costs, and can engage our guests with your dishes, then we want to hear from you!

Flavour, creativity and skill are what you bring to the kitchen day in and day out! 

  To be successful in this role, you will need 

  • Hands-on leader who sets the benchmark with his/her team

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef / or senior CDP 

  • Exceptional personal presentation and customer service skills 

  • Minimum 4 years in a similar role in a thriving restaurant/hotel environment  

  • Required certificates relevant to the job description 

  • Available to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays 

  • Must be trade qualified and hold certification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III minimum or equivalent) 

  • Good communication skills 

  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure 

  • Attention to detail 

  • Creative and passionate about food and adhering to the group's high standards 

  • A genuine passion for food and a strong interest in the Hospitality Industry

What will you do 

  • Preparing, cooking, plating and presentation of high-quality dishes 

  • Keeping your section and kitchen clean, organised and stocked, FIFO and upholding stringent food standards 

  • Maintaining par levels 

  • Assisting kitchen managers in daily operations 

  • Mentoring junior members of the team

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and ensuring checklists are completed 

  • Always adhering to food service sanitation standards 

  • Participate in hotel meetings, prepare reports, and work with the executive chef in preparing menus for C&E and the restaurant
